  • Experienced guitar & bass here, looking for a GOOD singer & DRUMMER to do paying shows (if possible every weekend). COVERS & ORIGINALS Repertoire will be mostly determined by the singers range & tone. Preferably well known songs, that other bands don't usually do. Having outstanding talent & ambition are more important than experience. SINGER: *MUST* HAVE A STRONG VOICE (preferably soprano) & be able to comfortably sing 30 songs every night. As well as being reasonably presentable & engaging on stage. We'd prefer a female voice, but a male with a strong *higher* vocal range (same key as the CD) would also do. --- DRUMMER: MUST ABLE TO "GROOVE" & PLAY SIMPLE/SOLID BEATS WHEN REQUIRED. Good sense of dynamics & meter & be very precise/tight. We'd prefer a "John Bonham" over any "Niel Peart" or "Kieth Moon" wanna-be's : ) --- A DAY JOB or FAMILY IS OK, BUT YOU SHOULD BE WILLING TO PUT MUSIC AS A MAJOR PRIORITY - MEANING THAT YOU HAVE THE TIME TO LEARN YOUR PARTS PROPERLY (AT HOME) & CAN SOUND CLOSE TO THE CD/STUDIO RECORDING PLEASE ANSWER *ALL* THE QUESTIONS: - your age & stage experience - your favorite bands/singers & past repertoire - your location, availability, goals etc... - any audio or video links? (we will post our audio in a few weeks) DRUMS & GOOD VOCAL PA PROVIDED at our FREE REHEARSAL SPACE (located a bit *EAST of CORNWALL* - so you'd need a car) Shows will mostly be around South-East Ontario, Ottawa & Valleyfield. • Gigging, blues-rock band, Dirty Little Secret, is currently auditioning for an energetic, experienced drummer. We are an experienced five piece band (guitar, keys, bass, vox and drums) and are playing shows regularly (typically monthly) throughout the Ottawa area. Our sound is a mix of Zeppelin, Black Keys, Monster Truck, Big Sugar, with some funk and pop as well. We typically take covers and make them our own, heavily riff based, with strong vocals. We have original material but most of the songs are covers - writing ability is a strong asset. We are all in our early 40's and focus on professionalism and putting on a great show. We rehearse weekly (Wednesday evenings) in Orleans. We require someone who shares similar musical interests, is reliable, is professional, plays with dynamics, is fun to be around (no egos), will come to rehearsals prepared, and brings a positive energy to the band. The core of the band has been together for five years and we are looking for someone who is in it for the long haul. Contact us at dirtylittlesecretband.com -- facebook.com/dlsband

  • We are are an original, hard rock/alternative-ish band with somewhere around 9 or 10 songs written....minus lyrics, which is why we are looking for a singer/songwriter. Our intentions are modest...write some songs, record a few albums, play some gigs, travel and become rock gods. Experience preferred but not necessary, as long as you are committed to practice at least once a week, and can sing better than Serge.....we practice twice a week at a rented room with no noise restrictions. The whole band will help with lyric writing if necessary. Must have a good sense of humor and be serious at the same time....no eating sandwiches during practice. If you are interested in checking us out we can send a few demos and schedule a meet n' greet. Bonus if you have a demo to share with us before hand....

  • Acoustic Dream I have for years dreamt of a space where wannabe jazz musicians of any age could get together and jam without amplified instruments. ie, real piano, upright bass, traditional drums/percussion, horns, etc. I am thinking more informal drop-in and social space rather than a teaching or rehearsal space. More like the public piano in City Hall than Gigspace or a music studio. I am able to supply and maintain a baby grand if someone has a space they would be willing to contribute. Perhaps a cafe that is not busy in afternoon/evenings, community centre, seniors facility, etc. I know all the factors that make this complicated. Hoping there is another dreamer out there who appreciates the concept. Also happy to hear from any players who like the idea and might have suggestions.

Many of our songs have female lead vocals, however we are also very open to considering male singers with a good range. We do a variety of Dance, Current, Classic Rock, New Country and some Alternative material. We are keys, guitar, bass and drums. We are focused, have fun and are substantial experienced players. The band is tight and has lots of energy! Just as important, we're aware of being a good club band while also aiming for corporate and other types of gigs. We'd like to play at least a few times a month once we get going! If you think you might be interested, let us know and we're happy to send you our song list and a link to our Facebook page.
