  • Hey! calling all Original and Cover bands in the Rock/ Hard Rock / Classic Rock genres. We (Scarecrowz) are participating in a Biker Party in Plantagenet on August/16. This would be a fun party to be a part of. We will supply the full PA setup and partial back line. This would pay from $75 to $100 for a 45 min set. If less bands want in, then it would be recommended to have two sets of an hour each of cover songs. Please let us know as soon as possible. The event would start at about 3pm until about midnight. Thanks!

  • Rob Mosher's Polebridge Brings Chamber Jazz for the Wild West To GigSpace Performance Studio, Ottawa, ON, Wednesday, July 2 2014 - 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $20 Rob Mosher - clarinet/soprano sax/music Micah Killion - trumpet Aline Homzy - violin Greg de Denus - piano Andrew Small - acoustic bass When composer/multi-instrumentalist Rob Mosher rounded the bend into Polebridge, Montana and caught sight of the old saloon piano sitting derelict behind the local mercantile, his imagination soared. He sprinted straight over to the out-of-tune upright and began penning the music that he'll be performing throughout Canada with his stellar band Polebridge and which is featured on his lush album of the same name. It's surprising and satisfying - chamber jazz with a lot of twists including Appalachian-style fiddle music, otherworldly Klezmer, a healthy dose of country swagger and plenty of improvisation. Other tour dates include Saturday, June 28 at the Aron Theatre in Campbellford; Sunday, June 29 at 80 Gladstone in Toronto; Monday June 30th at First-St Andrews United Church in London, ON; Wednesday, July 2nd at GigSpace in Ottawa, ON; and Thursday July 3rd at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Montreal, QC. gigspaceottawa.com -- facebook.com -- robmosher.com/polebridge Gigspace Performance Studio 953 Gladstone Avenue, Ottawa ON 613-729-0693

  • We are a guitarist, bassist, and drummer looking for a singer to complete a hard rock "lineup". We usually jam on Sundays, as something to do this summer. We have no real hopes on accomplishing much, but I would like to play a gig or two into the fall. Cheers, jacob.
    Jacob Toohey

  • Are you retired?? Do you find Thursday afternoons boring and wish you would have continued playing music over the years?? We are a rock band that has been jamming for a couple of years. We all have past gigging experience, are very dependable, and would like to gig occasionally. We are good musicians with excellent equipment and can play pretty much anything but have mostly concentrated on 60-70's music. We are currently 4 people.... 2x guitar, bass, drums. Our practice space, in Orleans, is fully equipped and sounds great. We are all non-smokers and non-drinkers (at least during rehearsals or gigging). Our vocals need improving to get out gigging and we are looking for someone to carry the bulk of the lead singing with us doing back up and some lead. We are fairly flexible and can modify somewhat to accommodate vocal style. If your interested in adding some rock to your Thursdays and can sing well enough to gig a few times a year, send an email to

  • Looking for keyboardist and/or rhythm guitarist (either or able to do both preferable) to join group. Vocal ability also an asset. Vocalist, bassist, lead guitarist and drummer with many years of experience playing various styles in other groups have now united to create something new (hopefully better). Average age of players is 45-50. As of yet, new direction is still being tested (new member would have input) but it's beginning to focus on a bit of a retro style (70s -80s) with emphasis on musicianship (chops) and strong melodies. Hoping to create something unique and maybe even visually exciting, somewhat uncommon in the Ottawa scene. Keyboardist should have ability to play more than just organ/piano (i.e. synth solos and recreate other instruments like strings and horns, etc..). Rhythm guitarist will be also given the opportunity to play some leads as well, if desired (and if able enough ;). Important to note - project isn't based on making money 9no jobbers). Gigs will be few but hopefully meaningful. Must be committed to regular weekly rehearsals for the fun and satisfaction of playing great music well with friends. And we have a "NO DRAMA" rule - to ensure the fun part ;) If interested and to see if you might fit in, get in touch for details. Can also call (613) 371-5853. Thanks.

  • Band looking for drummer. Looking for a drummer with decent skills and good energy. We are a singer, bassist and guitarist in our early 40's with wheels and good equipment. We can play. Not sure the direction of the band until we assemble all the pieces. But we do prefer the heavier side of things without going overboard. Rock, hard rock, punk, metal. Basically anything with a kick. Happy to do covers, but also have original ideas. Game plan is to simply have fun. But if we build something we're proud of, we're open to bringing it to a stage.
