  • Drummer Wanted - Ottawa jam band (guitars/bass/harp) looking for a drummer. We play good solid tunes across a range of styles (rock, country, blues, reggae) and members have lots of gig experience but this band is a semi-casual thing to keep our chops up. Although we average a couple of gigs per year and wouldn`t mind doing more if/when the opportunity presents itself. We try to jam semi-weekly as individual schedules permit. We need a competent drummer (with his/her own transportation) to join us at Soundcheck studios jam space (Clyde/Carling). We all have day jobs so there are no delusions of rock/roll grandeur but we endeavor to play well. So if you think this might be for you, please contact us and we can audition each other.

  • So let me explain a little bit more about NLT and we can go from there,
The NLT band is re-founded by Robert “Six” Gallant and Shannon "Austin" Weese, We are for both senior musicians looking for a Lead Guitarist, and possible Keyboardist to join in the fun...
We are not looking to go on tour or cut the new latest album, we’re just looking for once a week jamming at the studio, with the possibility of playing once a month. I will say when it comes to playing live, I’m holding strong to my values that each member gets $100 plus (meals) and the maximum we are willing to travel is three hours radius, if we do have to travel more than an hour, we will have a U-Haul trailer for the gear with my vehicle.
If and when we do get stage ready, We will be putting together a promo pack for larger gigs.
What we’re asking from you; is a commitment for once a week (Wednesday nights) to show your creativity, as well seeing that these are cover songs, playing them as best you can. We are starting this Wednesday from 6 – 9
So... If you or know someone itching to play please message me....

  • 'The Circle Sessions' are every Tuesday evening from 7:15 to 10:00 pm. Located at Dovercourt's Mckellar Park (539 Wavell Ave) location.
Acoustic instruments - some moderately volume'd plug in. Wide genre of covers in addition to our group of original singer songwriter members. In these past 10 years we have been privileged to foster and observe new musicians gain confidence and expertise. Some recording original material and playing paying gigs. All the time having a great time honing their craft and having good clean fun playing in The Circle with supportive musicians.
We pride ourselves to be non judgemental and welcoming - at the same time there is a minimum level of expertise required in order to maintain a basic 'gelling' of the group. So as long as players are able to keep decent rhythm are working towards and advancing reasonably, you are welcome to join in.

  • KEYBOARDIST WANTED. The Funk 'n' Groovy Band wants to add an accomplished keyboardist to its line up. We are serious about music and having fun and looking for someone who can commit to both
About the band: We cannot stand a crowd that is not engaged or just sitting there half listening, so our goal is to make people dance and have fun, period. That means playing music people can dance to and we are very particular about our material and select songs that are also musically interesting and challenging. This means soul, Motown, rhythm and blues, disco and funk, as well as rock and more recent stuff that grooves (think Bruno Mars). Instrumentally we aim to cover songs as authentically as possible, which is why we have three vocalists (two female, one male), guitar, bass, drums and a 3-piece horn section. All we're missing is a keyboard player. It is our view that with this approach, great gigs will follow. If you think this is for you, email us at

  • Original rock band in need of a bass player We are a singer/guitarist, guitarist and drummer looking for a bassist to join us to play some original rock tunes, and a couple of covers. 13 songs have been written and most have been recorded. For covers, we're looking at some Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, White Stripes, etc. We normally rehearse in my fully equipped basement in Aylmer, QC. If you're looking to join a band and:
-you have a bass and amp
    -you have transportation
-you can practice once a week, or every two weeks
Our goal is to get the tunes down and tight, and start playing live soon. We all have careers/jobs, so we are realistic with our goals... No world domination, no collaboration with Beyonce, etc. We can provide song samples, and hopefully we can get samples from you as well.
Hard Rock band looking for singer We’re a hard rock band from Ottawa and we’re looking for a singer. We’re a group of 35+ “adults”. We’re currently doing covers like Godsmack, Alice in Chains, Three Days Grace, Guns and Roses, Headstones and more. Our intention is to write originals and put together a kick ass set of covers and originals. We work as a team and everyone has their say. We have good connections in the area and once we have a reliable singer, we’ll be looking to gig on a regular basis. We aim to rehearse weekly at Record Runner Studios in Ottawa. What we need from you:
    -Reliability; make an effort to come out to practice. We all have jobs and families, and we work together to find rehearsal times that work for everyone. Please respect that;
-Team player; as I said, we work as a group and we make band decisions collectively.
If this is something that might interest you, let us know.

This evening is designed for acoustic performers. A complete sound system with mics, monitors and keyboards is set up. We’ve had accordions, mandolins, ukuleles and of course guitar players. Born and raised in Ottawa, pianist Peter Hum has been a mainstay of his hometown's jazz scene since the early 1990s. He has released two acclaimed albums of original music -- A Boy's Journey (2010) and Alpha Moment (2015). His recordings have been supported by grants from the City of Ottawa and the Ontario Arts Council. Previously, his compositions and performances at the Montreal and Ottawa International Jazz Festivals have been broadcast by the CBC and Radio-Canada.
His Record Runner concert will feature the debut of new compositions by Peter, plus originals by other members of his multi-generational, multi-city group, which includes:
Veteran Ottawa guitarist Roddy Ellias, a dynamic performer who over more than four decades in jazz has played with such legends as Lee Konitz, Kenny Wheeler, Dr. Lonnie Smith and Tom Harrell.
Tenor saxophonist Chris Maskell, an up-and-coming talent in Montreal who is pursuing graduate-degree music studies at McGill University.
Montreal bassist Alec Walkington, who has played with Peter since both were high school students in Nepean in the early 1980s. Alec teaches jazz bass at McGill University and has played with a who's who of jazz artists including Joe Henderson, Barry Harris and Harold Mabern.
Toronto drummer Tim Shia, a much-in-demand sideman who also leads the forward-thinking jazz outfit The Worst Pop Band Ever.
Also, since Oct. 10 this year will mark the centenary of the birth of jazz great Thelonious Monk, the quintet might take the opportunity to play a tune or two by him. More information:

Every Tuesday evening from 7-10. Mainly acoustic instruments - some moderately volume'd plug in. Mainly covers in addition to our original songwriter members. In these past 10 years we have been privileged to foster and observe new musicians gain confidence and expertise. Some recording original material and playing paying gigs. All the time having a great time playing in The Circle with supportive musicians. We pride ourselves to be non judgemental and welcoming - at the same time there is a minimum level of expertise required in order to maintain a basic 'gelling' of the group. As long as players are working towards and advancing reasonably, they are welcome.
