  • Seeking advanced level drummer and bass player to join new band in the works, for a rock solid yet agile rhythm section. Looking for players who are comfortable with & know the value of the correct use of a metronome as a standard part of their practicing, and who have good skills/technique, & get satisfaction going into detail learning tunes. You are aware of tone and dynamics. If you're able to contribute backing vocals that would be a plus. Looking for players who are able to make a solid commitment to a band, weekly rehearsals and future gigs. Also in general cooperative, positive in attitude. The reward for committing to this band would be the fun of playing in a group with other advanced (technically/experience-wise) musicians doing a variety of good cover material with lots of energy, while getting paid we'll for gigs once established. Targeted gigs - club dates, corporate gigs, weddings, fairs etc. The goal is to have a lot of fun playing a variety of audience-friendly good material, in well structured exciting shows.

  • Vocalist, singer (NOT a rapper or DJ) wanted/needed/desired. Pearl Jam, GNR, Wide Mouth Mason, Chilli Peppers, Doobies, Santana,Tom Petty, Hip, Guess Who - these are some of the bands we cover. What we're looking for - what we need - is an ego-less vocalist, who can cover these bands, who can bring (or wants to cover) current tunes to our repertoire. And who can commit to a "long term relationship". Age and gender are irrelevant, but maturity level is not. We are all over 35 (some of us further than others),, all young at heart, and all established in our life. If you aren't "set" in your life yet, we may not be able to form a long term relationship. Please keep this in mind should you reply, we don't really want to waste each other's time and a LTR is what we're looking for. Weekly (Sunday) practices in Orleans. Our goal is to be "giggable" 3-4 months after we find....YOU. :-)

  • Hey All, we are looking to complete our line up with some Ottawa's best! We are currently looking to fill two spots, we need a Vocalist with pipes to grab your attention, who likes to be the center of attention at shows and gets a crowd moving. We also need a bass player who has the drive to sake the foundations and create a monster rhythm section with our hard hitting drummer! This is a new band we are starting to get in the groove of writing. Our goals are to Write, Record, play live both locally and out of town. We want people who are committed to music and love playing live. We are a a easygoing group and want to have a blast to see how far we can take this. All the members are veterans of the Ottawa music scene. There is NO EGO's and NO DRAMA wanted! We are in our 30's 7 & 40's. If this sounds like something you want, then send us a message with a little about you and any samples you may have.

  • Cover Band Seeking Sound Tech For Shows Cover band currently seeking applications for a sound technician to join our band to mix sound at our shows (paid).
We are hoping to find someone to provide a consistent mix at shows, as well as attend rehearsals to learn our song-list as we prepare for live shows. For live shows, sometimes this will mean sitting at the mixing console and mixing all evening, other times for ‘lighter’ gigs just checking levels, balance and EQs throughout the evening to ensure they remain consistently good all night.
We will be playing once or twice a month beginning September, and you will be paid as a band member for all gigs you work. We have some PA already but helpful if you have some equipment as well.
You will have some experience mixing live bands, a good objective ear, and be able to ensure stage & PA balances, vocal/instrument levels, EQ and effects sound great at gigs.

  • Keyboard player sought Is there a keyboard player out there who
    a) Has skills
    b) Would genuinely like to be part of a band?
    c) A band that does covers?
    d) Isn’t in a lot of other projects?
    e) Genuinely enjoys the challenge of, and gets satisfaction from doing their keyboard parts using their ears and skills from the original recordings. You don’t necessarily go right to YouTube as your default strategy for learning music?
    f) Has a good ear and proven solid rhythmic sense; really comfortable with metronomes/rhythm machines/click tracks?
    g) Is a positive person, open in attitude generally, but especially to lots of different music (and it might be a cliché but), is a ‘team-player’; likes cooperating for the ‘greater good’ of the band. If so, reward for your skills, ears, conscientious and positive attitude, good practice habits, willingness to commit to a band, is ending up in a really good new band in the works. If you’re the right person I probably don’t have to put much more in this ad

  • Seeking female vocalist for a funky soul band Established band with a solid performing track-record and a full set of music inspired by the great soul / R&B / funk tunes of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Song choices run from classic soul by artists like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and Gladys Knight to more contemporary artists like Amy Winehouse, Janelle Monae, and Macy Gray. This is a dream set for a female singer! The musicians (two other female singers, guitar, keyboards, drums, and I play bass) are all accomplished and range in age from their early-20’s to mid-50’s (me). Current rehearsal schedule is Thursdays 7:30-9:30 pm in Chelsea (15 minutes from downtown Ottawa). Musicians show up generally knowing the tunes and their parts. The project is for fun - we play great music, gig locally, and make occasional money.

  • Alt Rock Band Looking For A Singer. Hello sweet sweet people, We are a newly formed band. Pretty open minded. Currently we are at jamming stages, so we are trying out some early 2000s alternative songs, and for which we require a singer. We're also gonna play some jazz standards in the near future. We're gonna build a reportoire with some good tunes first and then moving on to original stuff. If you play rhythm guitar, thats great, but not necessary. The vocals I am looking are something like John Mayer/Brandon Boyd/Rob Thomas kind of, just something that I think would suit the band great. Male/Female doesnt matter as long as you have a perfect pitch. Looking forward to hear from you. Would be if you're under 30, we are all 22.

We like to have a good time, are all good friends, but of course sounding great is always our #1 goal. We are looking for somebody who will be a cohesive member of our unit! • Looking for a drummer to complete a band. So far, we are a singer, bassist and guitarist. This is intended to be a fun project; not looking to gig every weekend. We envision jamming every other week, and doing stuff like playing open jams and opening for other bands. We have jam space in Stittsville complete with a drum kit and PA but we can be flexible if circumstances dictate. We are experienced musicians/singers. Bassist can do backing vocals. Ideally the drummer can do so as well but it is not a deal-breaker. We want to play classic and modern rock, top-40 songs of today and yesteryear along with perhaps some more alternative stuff. For example, What's Up (4 Non Blondes), Ex's and Oh's (Elle King), Roxy Roller (Sweeney Todd), Tainted Love (Gloria Jones), Walking on Sunshine (Katrina and the Waves), Middle of the Road (The Pretenders), Rockin in the Free World (Neil Young), Proud Mary (CCR), Joey (Concrete Blonde), I Wanna Be Sedated (Ramones). • Are you an experienced guitarist with your own gear and transport? Do you like new challenges? Like to play different styles? If you rely on gigging and making money, this project isn't for you! We've all been there, and done that in spades. If however, you like the thought of recording and album and playing a few concert-style gigs with a group of seasoned, serious, dedicated, professional musicians, this may be for you.
We are already well underway and are preparing to record an album to compete in the 2017 JUNOs in the world music category. What does that mean? Imagine a hard-rock band (Drums, Keyboards, Bass, Vocals, Guitar (You?)) that include bagpipes, fiddle, Irish whistles in a mix of original and cover tunes (Singing is in a mix of Scottish Gàidhlig and English), then you start to get an idea of how exciting this project is and the type of music we make.
Sound interesting? Drop me an email, text or call me and I'll send you a link to the material we're preparing. Looking forward to hearing from you. // 613-805-3888
